Duck River FCA Events
Leadership Training

Our vision is to see FCA leaders be kingdom-minded servant leaders who have an intimate relationship with Christ, a realistic view of themselves, and authentic relationships with others.

With that in mind, we do two training events for our student leaders, one during the fall semester and one in the spring semester. Our fall event occurring in late August is called Leadership Training Day and encompasses most of the school day. Our spring semester event occurs usually in February and is called Leadership Breakfast. Both events are focused on encouraging, equipping, and empowering our student leaders to be examples for Christ as servant leaders at their schools.

Fields of Faith

Fields of Faith is a student led event. Students invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ. An athletic field provides a neutral, rally point where a community can come together.

Maury County Fields of Faith is the Last Wednesday in September -Lindsey Nelson Stadium, Maury County Park, Columbia, TN

Marshall County Fields of Faith is the third Wednesday in October – Football Stadium, Lewisburg, TN

Maury County Banquet

An FCA banquet is a special night set aside for people to come and hear what God is doing in the lives of coaches and athletes through FCA! It is a time where we celebrate our victories and cast vision for the future. It is a time to share a meal and hear from coaches and athletes how God has impacted their lives through the ministry of FCA. It is also an opportunity to see a professional athlete or coach share their story! And finally, it is a chance to help share in the ministry of FCA!

Our Maury County Banquet is usually held in late February or early March. If you are interested in being one of our banquet sponsors, hosting a table, attending as a guest, or serving on our banquet team please contact our area director Kirk Shepard at kshepard@fca.org or 931-797-5260, or Julie Baker at juliebaker@fca.org.

Marion Wilhoite FCA Golf Classic

The Marion Wilhoite FCA Golf Classic, sponsored by McDonalds of Maury County, is named in honor the beloved sports editor of the Columbia Daily Herald.  Marion was a vocal supporter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for years; he contributed his time and substance to FCA until the Lord called him “home.” This annual FCA tournament honors Marion Wilhoite’s life of service to his family, his community, and his devoted belief that all should know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Our Golf Classic is an opportunity for members of our community to come together and support FCA while enjoying a fun, but competitive, day of golf. The proceeds from the Golf Classic event go towards providing camp scholarships and ministry materials for the next school year.

If you would like to be one of our sponsors, register a team, or support us in prayer, please contact our area director Kirk Shepard at kshepard@fca.org or 931-797-5260.

Our event will take place on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Stoneybrook Golf Course, 119 Stoneybrook Rd., Columbia, TN 38401.

Girls Night Out

Girls’ Night Out is an FCA event that's geared toward our female athletes. This event allows us to bring in leaders that speak to the specific needs of our female athletes and students. This event also helps to strengthen and build the relationship between our coaches and their female athletes. This event is usually held in late January or early February.

5th Quarter/10th Inning

FCA's 5th Quarter/10th Inning is an outreach event that centers around the hosting of an FCA-type meeting following the conclusion of a local sporting event. These events can include any combination of icebreakers, worship, and guest speakers, all focused on the goal of providing an energetic, fun, and wholesome late-night experience for middle and high school students.

Man-Up Combine

High School football teams from local counties face off in an "NFL" style combine.  It is a great opportunity for local teams to see how they stack up to others in their area. FCA partners with Mt. Pleasant High School to do this event. Mount Pleasant High School handles the combine portion and FCA provides the spiritual dimension to the day, which includes having a special speaker. This event is held in March.

See You at the Pole

See You at the Pole, the global day of student prayer, began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten students praying at their school. Twenty years later, millions pray around their campus flagpoles on the fourth Wednesday in September

See You at the Pole is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. See You at the Pole is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event.

FCA does not own the rights to See You at the Pole; it is one of many ministries that supports See You at the Pole as a student-led event on our campuses. Our local FCA clubs on campus usually coordinate the See You at the Pole events in our area, in conjunction with local church youth groups.
